Literally translated to Black Mountain, Gunung Hitam is not at all as scary as it sounds unless your imagination skills are unparalleled. It’s located relatively close to Sungai Gabai Waterfall and surprisingly, it hasn’t been trekked by many. The back-and-forth trail is approximately 15km in total, so you gotta bring extra water for this one. Gunung Hitam is a well-marked trail, but it may not be as popular as other trails like Nuang Pangsun or Bukit Kutu or even Datuk. One reason could be the torturous elevation. Hitam is not a trail that you could rush down either if you want to save your knees.

- 0830am – Arrive at Pondok Org Asli
- 1130am – Arrive at Gunung Hitam’s Summit
- 1300am – Start Descent
- 1530am – Arrive at Pondok Org Asli
- 1630am – Arrive at Parking
- 1700am – End of activity.
