The blade is made from stainless Sandvik 12C27 steel, which is extremely durable thanks to the addition of chrome. A small amount of carbon has also been added to the steel. The handle is made of ebony, a rare black wood from the forests of Africa. You often see ebony used in sculptures and musical instruments.
