What is meant by pre-seasoned cast iron?

Steps to re-season the skillet after purchase:

1. Wash your new skillet with soap and brush.
2. Rinse with water.
3. Dry off the skillet with a dry cloth.
4. Heat it on the stovetop until it is smoking hot to make sure complete dry (this step is important as water is the enemy of cast iron skillet).
5. Apply a thin, even coating of cooking oil of your choice (inside and outside of the skillet).
6. Note: Remember to wipe off excess oil.
7. Hang to dry for next use.

Mistakes to avoid when cooking with a cast-iron skillet:

1. Always pre-heat the skillet before cooking
   Avoid putting cold food on a cold cast iron skillet as this step will definitely make the food stick on the skillet.
2. Grease it after heated up
   Any butter or lard grease can help to enhance your food taste and improve the non-stickiness of the skillets.
3. Leave the food while searing
   Do not keep moving the steak on a hot skillet when searing to form a good crust.
4. Flip when the food is done
   Flip the steak when you see the thin brown crust forming on the outside of the steak.

How to clean a cast-iron skillet after cooking?

Notes: Don’t use soap, don’t use steel wool, don’t put it in the dishwasher.

1. Pour hot water into the hot pan immediately after using.
2. Use a sponge or nylon stiff brush to scrub the pan lightly (use tongs to avoid scalding).
3. Rinse with hot water.
4. Apply a layer of salt and add a little bit of hot water to the pan.
5. Use a wooden shovel to scrape the tough stain on the pan.
6. Rinse with water.
7. Dry the pan thoroughly using a towel and dry it on the stovetop under low heat.
8. Apply a thin layer of oil to season (inside & outside of the pan) and store in a dry place.

How to restore a rusted cast iron?

1. Scrub off the rust with steel wool and water.
2. Wash your new skillet with soap and rinse with water.
3. Dry off the skillet thoroughly with a dry cloth.
4. Heat it on the stovetop until it’s smoking hot to make sure it is completely dry (this step is important as water is the enemy of cast iron skillet).
5. Apply a thin, even coating of cooking oil of your choice (inside and outside of the skillet).
6. Note: Remember to wipe off excess oil.
7. Place the skillet upside down on an oven rack & bake at 180°C for 1 hour.
8. After switching off the oven, let it cool in the oven.
9. Store the cast iron skillet uncovered in a dry place.

1. Human Mishandle

Any problem that is caused by conditions, malfunctions, usage mistakes, or damages not resulting from defects in material or workmanship.

2. Natural minor defects

Our cast iron is produced by pouring molten iron into a sand-made mold as sand has a higher melting point than iron. This mold creates a rough, sandpaper-like surface texture. Due to this unique property and the production processes involved compared to other materials, cast iron cookware is vulnerable to more potential defects. We often named this “Natural Cast Iron Defects” which has nothing related to damage or product defects under the warranty disclaimer. The natural defect does not make the cast iron skillet anything lesser than a normal cast iron skillet. They are equally good.
